September brought a fresh batch of improvements to Quiz Kit, with updates designed to make building quizzes easier, AI recommendations smarter, and testing more intuitive.
From a new integration with Shopify Sidekick to better control over quiz logic and redirect URLs, here's everything we've shipped this month.
Ask Shopify Sidekick About Quiz Kit
Need help setting something up in Quiz Kit? You can now ask Shopify Sidekick, Shopify's AI assistant, for guidance directly from the quiz builder.
The new Sidekick button sits next to Tutorials, making it easier to get answers to your questions and find the right help articles without interrupting your workflow.
Whether you're figuring out a feature or troubleshooting your setup, help is now just a question away.
Get More Clarity on Your Quiz Results
Understanding which results shoppers see is an important part of building an effective product quiz. We've made that process clearer.
You can now easily identify which results are generated by AI and which come from your own configuration. We've also renamed "fallback" results to "default" results and made them easier to understand, so it's clearer what shoppers will see when none of your rules match.
For quizzes created from templates, you can also choose between full AI results and a combination of AI and manual results.
This gives you more flexibility in how you build recommendations while keeping your quiz logic easier to understand and manage.
Smarter AI Product Recommendations
AI recommendations are getting more thoughtful about product pricing.
Quiz Kit now takes product prices into account when selecting recommendations, helping ensure that suggested products better align with your intended criteria.
We've also improved how prices appear on product cards. Instead of displaying the most expensive variant's price, cards now show the correct price for the recommended variant.
The result? More accurate recommendations and clearer pricing for shoppers as they explore your products.
Catch Conflicting Intent Rules Before They Cause Problems
Quiz logic can get complicated, especially as you add more questions, answers, and recommendation rules.
To help prevent unexpected results, Quiz Kit now flags conflicting intent rules when two rules contradict each other.
This makes it easier to identify and fix issues in your configuration before they affect the shopper experience.
Less time troubleshooting, more confidence that your quiz is recommending the right products.
More Control Over Answers and Redirect URLs
We've introduced answer aliases to give you more control over how quiz responses are handled.
You can now assign any answer a custom value, which is passed to subsequent questions, results, and redirect URLs instead of the original answer text.
This opens up more flexibility when connecting quiz answers to your own logic or external destinations.
We've also made it possible to use multiple variables within a single redirect URL and improved revenue tracking for redirect URL results, giving you better visibility into how these experiences contribute to sales.
A New Layout for Multi-Select Questions
Customising the look and feel of your quiz just got a little easier.
Multi-select questions now support an "image left, text right" layout, giving you another way to present answer options and create a more engaging experience for shoppers.
It's a small addition, but more layout flexibility means more opportunities to make your quiz feel right for your brand.
Easier Quiz Testing in Preview
Testing different quiz paths is now more intuitive.
The path editor in preview follows your quiz's branching logic, displaying only the questions relevant to the path you're currently testing.
When you change an answer, the following questions update automatically to reflect the new path.
This makes it easier to test different shopper journeys, spot issues, and understand how your quiz behaves without navigating through irrelevant questions.
Fixes and Stability Improvements
Alongside these feature updates, we've shipped a range of fixes and performance improvements across Quiz Kit.
These include improvements to:
Answer layouts on mobile and tablet
Bundle discounts
The billing page
A/B testing controls and analytics
AI assistant chat loading speed
Together, these updates make Quiz Kit more reliable and easier to use across the entire quiz-building experience.
