Presidio partnered with Avaline, the organic wine brand founded by Cameron Diaz and Katherine Power, to optimize its Shopify experience for premium direct-to-consumer growth. As national retail distribution expanded, Avaline needed a digital storefront that could better support subscription performance, increase multi-bottle orders, and handle high-impact campaign execution with greater flexibility.

A Premium Ecommerce Experience Built for Clarity & Conversion

Avaline operates at the intersection of clean-label transparency and lifestyle branding. That means the Shopify storefront needs to communicate ingredient clarity, varietal positioning, and occasion-based storytelling while still functioning as a disciplined ecommerce engine. Because wine purchasing naturally supports stock-up behavior, gifting, and replenishment, the digital experience also needed clear bundle logic, transparent shipping communication, and subscription-ready infrastructure. Performance stability was equally important, especially during promotional campaigns and seasonal demand spikes.

The Challenge: Strengthening Conversion Without Losing Brand Elegance

As Avaline’s retail presence expanded, the DTC channel needed clearer differentiation and stronger revenue mechanics. Product detail pages required a sharper above-the-fold hierarchy to communicate flavor profile, ingredient transparency, and value without disrupting the brand’s premium aesthetic. Bundle presentation also needed refinement to encourage multi-bottle purchases while preserving simplicity. Subscription logic required clearer value signaling to better support repeat purchase behavior. At the same time, campaign agility became more important as seasonal launches and retail-aligned promotions needed to go live quickly without creating technical bottlenecks. The challenge was to preserve the elegance of the brand while building a more disciplined conversion experience.

Our Shopify Optimization Strategy for Merchandising, Conversion & Performance

Presidio implemented a focused Shopify optimization strategy across product pages, bundle structure, subscription visibility, and performance. Product templates were refined to highlight flavor notes, sourcing transparency, and trust signals while improving overall conversion clarity. Bundle logic was simplified to better communicate savings and encourage stock-up behavior without disrupting the premium experience. Subscription functionality was also refined to clearly distinguish between one-time and recurring purchases. Performance improvements included image optimization, script cleanup, and mobile UX refinements to maintain stability during high-traffic periods. Modular theme controls were introduced to give the internal team flexibility to manage campaigns, promotions, and collection updates without developer dependency.
