Presidio partnered with OLIPOP, one of the fastest-growing functional soda brands in the United States, to scale its Shopify Plus direct-to-consumer engine. The engagement focused on expanding subscription adoption, increasing average order value through structured volume incentives, and supporting high-impact flavor launches alongside national retail growth. Through subscription optimization, merchandising refinement, and technical performance improvements, OLIPOP developed a more disciplined DTC revenue platform designed to deepen retention and complement its expanding retail presence.

Shopify Subscription & AOV Growth Platform Overview

OLIPOP’s rapid retail expansion created a clear opportunity to scale its direct-to-consumer revenue engine. Rather than competing with retail, the DTC channel was repositioned as a retention and lifetime value driver - increasing subscription penetration, improving repeat purchase frequency, and strengthening customer relationships beyond in-store discovery. To support this evolution, the Shopify storefront needed to mature into a structured subscription and AOV optimization platform. This included clearer subscription-first UX, strategically surfaced volume-based incentives, scalable landing infrastructure for seasonal flavor launches, and resilience under sustained paid acquisition traffic. At national brand scale, DTC performance required disciplined merchandising logic, conversion clarity, and infrastructure built for recurring revenue growth.

The Challenge: Subscription, AOV & Launch Infrastructure Gaps

As OLIPOP’s DTC channel expanded, structural limitations began to surface across subscription visibility, merchandising logic, and performance stability. The Subscribe & Save program lacked consistent value communication across PDP modules, subscription landing pages, cart upsells, and the account portal - limiting first-time adoption and long-term retention clarity. Flavor launches such as Ridge Rush and Crisp Apple introduced additional complexity. Marketing required rapid deployment of campaign landing pages, modular content systems, and promotional logic that integrated seamlessly with subscription flows. Launch velocity needed to match paid acquisition momentum without creating operational friction. At the same time, sustained traffic growth exposed technical inefficiencies. Core Web Vitals required refinement, structured data inconsistencies limited search visibility, image delivery needed modernization, and mobile navigation introduced unnecessary friction. Performance stability directly impacted both paid efficiency and organic discoverability.

Our Shopify DTC Growth & AOV Growth Strategy

Presidio implemented a focused roadmap across subscription optimization, AOV expansion, launch enablement, and technical performance. We improved subscription visibility across PDPs, refined landing page structure, and optimized cart and interstitial upsells to increase first-time Subscribe & Save adoption. Retention portal enhancements and clearer value cues strengthened long-term recurring revenue potential. To increase average order value, we refined “Buy More, Save More” logic within PDP architecture, clearly communicating tiered savings and encouraging stock-up behavior aligned with omnichannel pricing strategy. For seasonal flavor launches, we developed modular Shopify section systems and campaign-ready landing templates that enabled rapid deployment without development bottlenecks. Structured merchandising updates ensured new products integrated seamlessly into the storefront. On the technical side, we modernized PDP image delivery, resolved Core Web Vitals constraints, corrected structured data inconsistencies, and streamlined metafield and mobile navigation performance to reinforce platform stability under growth.
