Presidio partnered with Momofuku, the consumer brand founded by David Chang, to launch its direct-to-consumer Shopify storefront. The objective was to translate a globally recognized culinary brand into a high-performing ecommerce platform built around curated product bundles, subscription purchasing, and guided product discovery powered by Quiz Kit.
From Culinary Brand to Shopify Ecommerce Platform
Momofuku built its reputation through award-winning restaurants and bold culinary innovation. As the brand expanded into packaged goods including chili crisp, noodles, sauces, and pantry staples, ecommerce quickly became a core growth channel. The Shopify storefront needed to reflect the authority of a chef-driven brand while functioning as a disciplined revenue engine. Product bundles, subscription purchasing, and curated merchandising had to sit at the center of the experience to encourage discovery and increase average order value. Rather than simply launching a store, the goal was to build a Shopify ecommerce platform capable of guiding customers through product pairings, curated bundles, and repeat pantry purchases. The result was a storefront designed not just for transactions, but as a digital extension of the Momofuku culinary ecosystem.
Structuring Bundles, Subscriptions & Product Discovery in Shopify
Transitioning from restaurants to a direct-to-consumer CPG model introduced unique challenges. Momofuku products naturally pair together, but translating that culinary logic into a Shopify ecommerce experience required structured merchandising. Bundles needed to feel intuitive and value-driven rather than complex, while subscription purchasing had to support pantry replenishment without adding friction. First-time shoppers also needed guided discovery to navigate multiple products and flavor profiles with confidence. At the same time, the storefront had to balance premium brand storytelling with performance discipline, ensuring the Shopify platform maintained speed, usability, and conversion efficiency as the brand expanded its DTC presence.
Shopify Store Development with Bundle & Subscription Architecture
Presidio built Momofuku’s Shopify storefront around merchandising clarity and long-term scalability. Product bundles were engineered as a primary revenue driver, with curated starter kits, flexible multi-product groupings, and cart-level discount logic designed to encourage higher average order value. Bundle savings were communicated clearly across PDPs and cart experiences to reinforce value without adding visual clutter. Subscription functionality was integrated directly into product templates from launch. The Subscribe and Save experience clearly differentiated between one-time and recurring purchase options, aligning refill cadence with pantry restock behavior. To support discovery, Presidio implemented a guided product recommendation quiz powered by the Quiz Kit app. The quiz captured flavor preferences and cooking habits before directing shoppers into curated bundles, improving purchase confidence while collecting structured zero-party data for ongoing personalization. The storefront was built using a modular Shopify theme architecture with mobile-first PDP design, optimized food imagery, and flexible content sections to support future campaigns and product expansion.

Momofuku did not simply launch an online store. It established a scalable, chef-driven Shopify ecommerce channel designed to grow alongside the brand’s expanding CPG portfolio.
