Shopify Subscription Infrastructure for a Luxury Skincare Brand
Vintner’s Daughter operates a highly focused Shopify storefront built around a small product catalogue, high average order value and a loyal recurring customer base supported through its Shopify subscription app. Because many customers repurchase through subscription, the stability of the subscription platform, customer account logic and checkout routing plays a key role in long-term retention. For luxury brands operating on Shopify, the storefront must remain visually minimal while the underlying subscription infrastructure performs reliably. Subscription flows, loyalty program behaviour and cart interactions need to operate seamlessly so the Shopify experience supports recurring purchases without disrupting the brand’s clean design language.
The Challenge: Improving Shopify Subscription, Loyalty & Cart Stability
As Vintner’s Daughter’s direct-to-consumer channel expanded, several parts of the Shopify ecosystem required refinement. The Shopify subscription app needed clearer routing between one-time purchases and subscription orders, while subscription frequency selectors and checkout behaviour required greater consistency across product templates. Cart interactions also required stabilisation. Cross-sell modules showed styling inconsistencies, dropdown behaviour varied between devices and certain upsell modules occasionally triggered incorrect product additions within the Shopify cart page. At the same time, the brand required a more structured Shopify loyalty program that could reward long-term subscribers without relying on heavy discounting that might weaken the brand’s premium positioning. The challenge was to improve the reliability of the Shopify subscription, loyalty and cart infrastructure while preserving the minimal and refined storefront experience that defines Vintner’s Daughter.
Our Shopify Subscription, Loyalty & Cart Optimization Strategy
Presidio implemented a focused Shopify optimisation initiative centred on subscription infrastructure, loyalty programme mechanics and cart stability. A custom Shopify loyalty program was designed and integrated directly with the ReCharge subscription platform, structuring rewards around subscription tenure and recurring purchase behaviour rather than a traditional points system. The Shopify cart page and mini-cart experience were stabilised by correcting cross-sell styling inconsistencies, standardising dropdown behaviour and resolving cases where upsell modules triggered incorrect product additions. At the same time, the Shopify subscription app logic was refined to ensure reliable routing between one-time purchases and subscription orders, with consistent frequency selectors across product templates. Additional improvements focused on mobile storefront behaviour and layout stability. Fixed-height rules were introduced for homepage hero banners, while spacing, typography hierarchy and button alignment were standardised to reinforce the brand’s minimalist design system and strengthen overall storefront reliability.
